Big Pine Retreat is a hidden gem in the heart of hocking hills. Tucked into the deep woods, we are nestled between state forest and two hollows. We have 6 cabins and a lodge, all private and secluded and with hiking trails right outside your front door. From all of our cabins, you can hike directly to 21 Horse Cave, Chapel Falls, Airplane Rock and Conkle’s Hollow. We are also connected to the Buckeye Trail.

Beautiful and secluded which is what we wanted and very clean

The cabin was very rustic. Loved the wood finish and and the layout. It was very clean and had most of the basic necessities you need for a weekend get away.

The cabin is beautiful and we love the location. You're very close to all the main trails. The shower is wonderful, though the head attached to the side wall could use a pressure check. The only other complaint I would have is that the hot tub has taken on some rust stains. The power went out twice due to storms, but Paul was very helpful and reassuring. Every time I called him he had an update on the situation. This is our third time staying since 2022, and hopefully we'll be back next year!

I very relaxing and quiet, there were little to no problems.
I like the location of the house and how it was close to the parks for hiking. I like how the house was quiet and the location was secluded. The only problem was that there were two washcloths and four bath towels, and that wasn't enough for a three nights stay for two people. The coffee maker was also pretty dirty so we couldn't use that.
The cabin was clean and secluded on top of a Mountain.

Clean cabin close to trails
Very communicative hosts on what to do in the area and trails. Cabin and hot tub were clean and as pictured. Basic kitchen supplies were provided. Basic linens and towels. We were also provided 2 beach towels. Suggestions for the future: replace pots/pans as non stick coating is past life; add a few more bed pillows as ones provided were not supportive; an extra blanket for chilly evenings on the couch; more towels for longer stays. Overall a great value and secluded. Would stay again.

The coziest little cabin
One night was nearly not enough for our small little get away. This was cutest and coziest little cabin and we had a hard time wanting to leave and head back to reality. We can't wait until we have the opportunity to come back.

Great cabin�Perfect location

This is a lovely cabin and we enjoyed our stay
This cabin and property seemed very clean. Everything was very tidy and the cabin decor was charming and rustic. The area is private and very quiet. We would agree with the owners that an SUV would be the minimum required to access the cabin. We brought our all wheel drive Rav 4 to the cabin but felt our front wheel drive Escape would have struggled on the driveway. However I will say we did see cars at other cabins near us. The owners were very helpful in making restaurant recommendations.

A Very Nice Cabin in the Woods
We've rented many places through VRBO and this is one of the best. It's a bit of a rugged drive in and out to the cabin but worth it. Once we figured out the heat and the coffee maker (we're a bit technology challenged) everything was great. Very quiet and everything we needed was there. We generally eat most of our meals in the cabin when we rent and this one provided all we needed. Hot tub was nice, BBQ grill as well as a fire ring (we used both) and the bed is very comfortable.

Absolutely amazing!!
This was our fourth time staying at Big Pine Retreat. We have always stayed at the Mingo cabin (and of course love that cabin too). Ridge Point was a whole different experience. The cabin was beautiful both inside and out. The high-end finishes made it seem like a 5-star hotel. We enjoyed every single minute of our trip. Big Pine Retreat is truly a hidden gem and I won't even consider staying anywhere else.

Great location to the parks and close enough to a Walmart if supplies are forgotten. Cabin had all of the amenities to be self sufficient while there.
